About the Villa

The first sighting of Montemeccoli on early maps shows the villa to have been built in the late 1600s during a time when the wealthiest families of Florence would make a villeggiatura – or seasonal move - from city to country to recharge the body and mind.  Villa Montemeccoli continues this tradition, welcoming a small circle of guests to experience the simple elegance of Tuscan country life—shared meals, open landscapes, and the gentle rhythm of days designed for renewal.

Whether you are here for a wedding, the wonderful food of the region or exploring the history of the city, our goal is that you walk away feeling like you were visiting friends and leave with a sense of renewing as in the centuries old Italian concept of villeggiatura.
